If you’ve looked at my blog before you might have seen Lisa. I’ve been photographing her family for a few years as well as her beautiful interiors from time to time. She’s an amazing human and an incredible designer (check out her website here) and I always love working with her. And when I say she’s an incredible human, I truly mean it. She contacted me recently and told me that she was working on a room for a little girl who had recently been diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare debilitating disease with no cure. She wanted to give her a space that she would not only love but would be functional as she moves into needing a wheelchair and to accommodate her new service dog she was getting. When she asked me to not only photograph the room, but photograph the reveal, as they had managed to keep her out of the room while it was worked on. I was beyond honored and was more than happy to donate my services to this amazing project she was doing.
Siena was very clear she didn’t want something pink and girly, as her room had been. She even said her favorite color was black and that she loved animals. Lisa really knocked it out of the park and Siena clearly was in love with her new space when she saw it. I’m so glad I was able to witness such a beautiful moment and gesture. It was truly something I will never forget.
Before we went to the house we stopped for some quick cute headshot updates for Lisa. <3
And now for the incredible room and the adorable Siena:
