Truth be told, photographing teen boys was something I dreaded for a while. I had a hard time figuring out how to connect with them and pose/give direction to them. It’s gotten much more enjoyable the more I do it but it’s still never been my favorite. But then a kid like CJ comes along who is just so relaxed, funny, confident  and easy to work with and I can’t help but like it a lot more. We had a great time running around Downtown San Jose for this shoot. It just so happened to be the same day as the Fanime Convention so we also got to people watch the amazing and insane costumes people put together. We didn’t understand like 90% of the references but it was still really fun to witness the spectacle of it all. People really went all out. One guy had a legit giant Transformer costume.
