I feel so blessed that I’ve been fortunate enough to be so busy year round doing what I love. I have THE best clients and absolutely love getting to connect with these amazing and wonderful families and kids every week. The downside of being so busy is that I rarely have time to sit down and share these beautiful images, which is such a shame. This sessions was one of my all-time favorites from last fall and when I realized the other day I hadn’t ever shared it anywhere it made me feel like I do when the coffee runs out. So I’m fixing that now, with a Starbucks latte in hand of course.
This super amazing and fabulous family belongs to that of the incredibly talented local photographer Katie Baldi of Katie Baldi Photography. I will never not be shocked, flattered and a little confused when photographers reach out to book me. I feel a little like the reverse Ann Veal, “Me?” (Arrested Development anyone?). I mean our whole lives are looking at photographs and we all know so many extraordinary photographers. So, when a photographer picks you to document their own family it’s like a giant compliment wrapped in a warm hug. Once the warm hug feels wear off though, the pressure sets in. I worry they will judge me on my techniques or gear or that I’ll somehow fail hard and they will hate everything and think I’m a total fraud. Can you tell I have anxiety? Thankfully, once I start shooting it all melts away. Katie’s family brought so much love, energy, and awesomeness to the table that all I could do is feel giddy to be able to photograph it. I mean the light was aces. Their clothes were perfection. And of course just look at them. Totes adorbs. I ended up with so many favorite images that making this blog post felt impossible as I tried to narrow it down to a somewhat reasonable amount. Alas, and at last, here it is.
