The holidays are my absolute favorite time of year. The cheer and magic that fills the world is unparalleled in any other season. I love all of the joyous traditions that take over our normally mundane schedules and all of the memories we create and treasure at this time. Each of us celebrates differently but yet we are united in this unwritten agreement to be a little nicer and more grateful for a few weeks (if only it lasted right!?). Lights make even the most ordinary objects sparkle with beauty. And of course there’s the treats and hot cocoa!
Even though I’ve always loved this time of year, it’s amazing how the holidays get even more special when you see them through a child’s eyes. Sure it can also sometimes mean that the special tradition you envisioned being filled with laughter and joy turns out to lead to a giant tantrum, two grumpy adults and $50 down the drain but hey when it goes well it’s incredible! I have so enjoyed each holiday season we have shared as a family of three for the past 4 years and can’t wait to continue and add to these memories and traditions as a family of four!
Pretending to help Daddy get the tree is tough work =)
