I’m lucky enough to be friends with a lot of other photographers and am a part of several photography groups (this job can be pretty lonely working for yourself). One thing I’ve noticed is that there are a lot of photographers who will only photograph at golden hour. I think it’s great that they’ve got their signature light figured out and want to utilize it at every session. I can’t blame them either. That golden light is pretty magical and it’s pretty amazing to shoot in. For me though, I don’t mind shooting at other times of day at all. I know that small, late window of time just doesn’t work for every client and I’ve shot in full sun so often for years now and have even learned to love it. This shoot was done in full sun at 11am (if you’re a photographer you probably cringed at that) with pretty much no shade. Give me all the light and love every day of the week.
