I had originally wanted to take this picture as one of our weekly pregnancy images because Zachary is really into giving us checkups all of the time and even more so now that he got his new doctor kit for Christmas (he really likes Doc McStuffins and yes we sing the song each time). This image turned out to be more meaningful for this time in our pregnancy than I had intended. I’ve been in and out of the doctor quite a bit since the third trimester began and ended up in the hospital this past Saturday. I won’t get into what made us go in but while we were there I was having contractions that were 2-3 minutes apart at 33 weeks. I had been having contractions for a while and didn’t think much of them because they are random, even though they are close together. I mean I’ve seen the episode of Friends a million times where Rachel goes in for Braxton Hicks contractions so I knew what was going on and wasn’t worried (Friends fan= expert on life). =) They were worried about preterm labor however and I had to be given medicine to slow them down and will have to continue to take the medicine for a bit. Thankfully baby girl looks great (and even handled my blood pressure dropping fine) so that’s all that matters. She just needs to hang in there a bit longer!
Oh and I’m so glad I took few pictures of the bump bare before the dreaded PUPPP (pregnancy rash) reared it’s ugly itchy head for a second time (I had it with Zachary post-birth).
